2011 Girls NSCAA All American and All Midwest

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has released their 2011 NSCAA High School Girls All-Region V Team and the 2011 NSCAA Girls High School All-America Team.

Shea Groom has been recognized as the NSCAA State Player of the Year. She is joined on the All-American list by her Liberty Jay’s teammate, Kaysie Cark. Both players earn this honor for the second straight year.

The All-America Luncheon, held in the Kansas City Convention Center’s Grand Ballroom on Saturday, Jan. 14, in conjunction with the 2012 NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, MO will recognize the 81 girls chosen as All-Americans.

Shea Groom and Kaysie Clark were also teammates on the KC Intensity squad that finished as a Region 2 semifinalist. Groom now plays for Texas A&M, Clark for Mizzou.

Michelle Auer joined the SIU-Edwardsville Cougars where she a leading scorer as well as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Player of the Year in 2011, and a three time State Champion with Scott Gallagher (’07, ’08, ’10). Emily Cline (Glendale) played for Drury this year and was a Region 2 semifinalist with Scott Gallagher SC Green 92/93.

The underclassmen on the squad include Maddie Friedmann, Ursuline’s first ever All-Midwest player and a State Champion with Kolping Kicks SC Schmitt. Kailey Utley, 1st team All-Metro has committed to West Virginia and plays for Scott Gallagher SC Green 93/94 while Melanie Donaldson won a U16 State Championship with JB Marine Wipke last Summer.
