arjen-robben-bayern-munich-by-AFPimagesFour-time winners of the European Cup, FC Bayern München have reserved some of their best form for this season’s competition as they seek a fifth title on home soil in May. History favours the German club but can they stop José Mourinho’s free-scoring side?

What: Bayern Munich host Real Madrid, 1st Leg UEFA Champions League Semifinal
When: Tuesday, April 17 1:45 pm CST
Where: Live on FOX Soccer, coverage begins at 1:00pm CST.

After sweeping aside all before them in Europe this term, Real Madrid CF are hopeful of a tenth title, yet José Mourinho’s side first have to overcome a club with their own special incentive.

The match pits Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes, who steered Madrid to the European crown in 1998, against José Mourinho, the man who engineered Bayern’s downfall at the hands of FC Internazionale Milano in the 2010 final at the Santiago Bernabéu. Real travel to the Allianz Arena having never beaten Bayern in Munich, something that Mourinho considers meaningless.

The Key Battles in today’s game, as noted by St Louis’ own Bundesliga Fanatic include – Cristiano Ronaldo v Phillip Lahm, Arjen Robben v Marcelo, and Bastian Schweinsteiger v Xabi Alonso. Check out their report for all the details.
