St Teresa Academy Tops Western Region Poll

Following up on their Tournament Title at the Heart of America Classic in Kansas City April 14th, St Teresa Academy maintained their #1 ranking in the Western Region Coaches poll this week. They received the only first place votes (7) while also seeing four players recognized in the poll.

Sophomore Savannah Trujillo, a forward, earned MVP honors at the Heart of America Tournament. Dorian Bailey, a freshman forward scored 2 goals and earned 2 assists at the tourney, while juniors Peepers Gray (D) and Janie Thompson (GK) were recognized for the 2 shutouts and 1 GAA in the tourney.

The team beat St. Thomas Aquinas (KS) 2-1, Edmond North (OK) 3-0 and Grandview (CO) 2-0 during the tourney.

3 – Liberty (10-3-1)
4 – Kearney (13-1-0)
5 – Park Hill South (9-1-2)

Lee’s Summit North maintained their #2 ranking while Liberty moved up from #4. Sophomore Kaitlyn Clark was recognized for her 6 goals and 12 assists as of Saturday and senior Delaney Kiely has 18 goals and 4 assists.
