Logan Panchot Representing Missouri at U14 MNT Camp

Panchot-id2-campnouU.S. Under-14 Boys’ National Team head coach Hugo Perez has named 36 players to the roster that will train May 13-20 in Carson, Calif. Among the players named is one Missouri player, midfielder Logan Panchot (St. Louis Scott Gallagher SC) who is a 7th grader in the Rockwood School District.

This is the fourth event Logan has participated in with US Soccer, a process that began last August with the National Team Identification Camp

The annual identification camp for the U-14 Boys’ National Team Identification Camp has kicked off at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., under the direction of U-14 BNT head coach Manny Schellscheidt. The 80 players, born in 1998 or 1999, will train together twice daily from July 31-Aug. 6 at the National Training Center.

The players for the identification camp are selected by the U.S. Soccer technical advisors and the national scouting network. Player identification in the United States now includes U.S. Soccer training centers, a scouting initiative that is free for players across the country.

The U-14 BNT was created to introduce young players to the national teams, and a level of soccer they would otherwise not see at such a young age. Daily training sessions and scrimmages are supplemented by programming that prepares the players for potential call-ups to national teams in the future.

As he notes in the interview below, an initial group of over 80 players has been whittled to 36. Other Missouri players who participated in the first event include defender Seth Hudson (Sporting Kansas City; Parkville, Mo.) and midfielder John Leisman (Sporting Kansas City; Kansas City, Mo.).

In addition to the US ID Camp, we also discuss his February trip to Spain with US Club Soccer and their ID2 program. To see video from the Barcelona youth match, click here.

Logan has two older brothers who are members of the St Louis Scott Gallagher Academy program and who also played for Tim Walters at Lafayette. Jean-Luc is a goalkeeper on the U17/18 squad and Austin is a freshman midfielder on the U15/16 squad. He’s a well-spoken young man who seems as comfortable with the interview process as he is with the ball. Check it out below and keep an eye on this representative of St Louis Soccer!
