Via Saint Louis men’s soccer, fresh off an Atlantic 10 Conference title and NCAA Tournament berth, has added seven players to the program, as announced today by head coach Mike McGinty. All will have four years of eligibility beginning with the 2013 season.
The new players are: goalkeeper David Andre (Rennes, France/Rennais FC), defender Khalil Davis (Leesburg, Va./Tuscarora), defender Justin Graham (Washington, Mo./St. Francis Borgia), midfielder Max Karcher (Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield East), midfielder/defender Joe Saad (San Diego, Calif./St. Augustine), goalkeeper Bryan Seefeld (Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead) and goalkeeper Roman Vassel (Milwaukee, Wis./Marquette).
“This is a fantastic group,” McGinty said. “We were very specific in what we were looking for, and we have addressed positional needs and now have competition at every position on the field. Assistant coach Jason O’Keefe did an excellent job in identifying and tracking these players.
Justin Graham – D – Washington, Mo. – St. Francis Borgia HS – Scott Gallagher-Missouri
McGinty on Graham: “Justin is primarily a central defender who is comfortable distributing from the back and having the ball at his feet. He has good positioning and ball-winning ability. We want to build from the back, and Justin fits nicely into that mold.”
Graham plays on the club circuit for Scott Gallagher-Missouri in the Development Academy. He has started nine of 13 games for the club. Last year, he started 21 matches and helped the club to a division title and a national playoff appearance. The local product has trained under local coaches Tim Leonard and Tim Regan.
