Madison Meador, SLSG Missouri ECNL (98)

Madison Meador, a freshman at Marquette High School and member of the St Louis Scott Gallagher 97-98 ECNL squad (U15) has been invited to the U15 Girls National Team camp later this month. She’ll celebrate her 15th birthday the day she returns from Camp.

Madison has been playing up with the U16 ECNL squad this year, she’s pictured at the National event in Florida in December 2012 as part of the squad. She was also invited to attended the ECNL Nike id2 camp in Raleigh, NC last March. The id2 Camps are invitation-only events that bring together the nation’s top male and female youth players for four days of competition, evaluation and fun. U.S. Soccer National Team staff, some of the nation’s top coaches as well as elite guest coaches also attend the event.

Her ECNL teammates are arriving in Dallas today for their final weekend of play, a National ECNL event that Madison will forego to be better prepared for the GNT Camp.

U.S. U-15 GNT head coach Damon Nahas has called up 24 players, 23 born in 1998 and one born in 1999, for the event that will be the first of at least four training camps this year for this age group. Nahas will be joined by U.S. Soccer Development Director Jill Ellis at the camp which features a group of players who are age-eligible for the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. That tournament has an age cut-off date of players born on or after Jan. 1, 1997, so the top players in this age group may have the chance to break into that squad.
