U.S. Under-15 Boys’ National Team head coach Tony Lepore has called 19 players for the Tournament Delle Nazioni in Grandisca, Italy, from April 26 – May 6. Included in that number is Logan Panchot, an eight grader from Wildwood. His father Jeff dropped him off at the airport this morning, as Logan prepares to participate in his seventh camp with the age group. He is joined by Erik Palmer-Brown, a Lee’s Summit native who is Sporting KC Academy member that has chosen to join the US Residency program.
Logan is a member of the St Louis Scott Gallagher Academy program where he is able to play with one of his older brothers, Austin who leads the team in scoring with 9 goals in 18 games. I’ve added a video interview I did with Logan last Summer following his participation in the US Club Soccer id2 trip to Barcelona with AJ Palazzolo to this story so you can get to know the young man better.
I highly recommend a trip out to the Soccer Park to catch him in action. He’ll be available for the final home game of the season, tentatively scheduled for June 1st in the derby game against SLSG Illinois. There are two home games next weekend, while he’s in Italy. Check one of them out so you can compare the team’s play with and without him.
Sat May 4 12:30 pm – St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri U-15/16 vs Vardar SC Freiburg U-15/16
Sun May 5 12:30 pm – St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri U-15/16 vs Crew Soccer Academy Wolves U-15/16
There is a Q&A with Head Coach Tony Lepore regarding the trip.
We play the host, Italy, in our first match. Then we play Slovenia in the second match. Where we’re located in Gradisca is just over the border from Slovenia so playing nearby they’ll have very much like a home game. Those are two great challenges no matter where you play them but I think that adds to this special opportunity. We finish group play with Chile, so we’re expecting a challenge. We also have the challenge of some age-up competitions since this is a U-16 event so there will some ‘97s and we’ll be one of the younger teams I would expect

All of the players in camp were born in 1998, with the exception of Malcolm Jones, Erik Palmer-Brown and Ben Swanson who were born in ’97 and are all current members of U.S. Soccer’s Residency Program. Fifteen of the 19 players called in for the tournament are currently on a Development Academy roster. Joshua Perez recently moved from Chivas USA Academy to Fiorentina in Italy.
Lepore has called in 15 players who were in the previous U-15 BNT camp in March, including Panchot.
