North Boys Capture MAC St Louis Soccer All-Stars Win

2014-06-28 30th annual MAC St Louis High School soccer All-Star Game at Soccer Park

South MVP Adam Michel, Vianney

The MAC High School Senior All-Star game held on Saturday finished 6-4 in the North’s favor. Details can be found in the P-D story.

Keegan Fouch of Howell North was named the North MVP for his play while Adam Michel of Vianney was named MVP of the South squad. Adam will play at Rockhurst in the Fall. As a point of reference, Adam would have received my vote for the All-Metro player of the Year in 2013 if the P-D accepted my vote.

The North now leads the South 20-7-4 and has won 11 of the last 13 years.

In addition, St Dominic GK Logan Feldmann, also headed for Rockhurst University, was named the Sam Copple Goalkeeper of the Year. Sam Copple, formerly of University City, was active in soccer here for 50 years as a player and coach. For that accomplishment, he received the Gold Boot Award from the Catholic Youth Council in 1993. He participated in the Senior Olympics and volunteered for the Special Olympics, the Missouri Athletic Club Sports Foundation Soccer Committee and at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.

Steven May of Affton was awarded a $1000 college scholarship which he will use as he pursues a pre-med degree this Fall. UMB presents the $1,000 scholarship to a male and female all-star for academic achievement and community service.
