ESPN Adds NWSL Broadcasts Beginning Sunday

Alex Morgan and Portland Thorns FC will host Julie King (Nerinx!), Heather O’Reilly and the Boston Breakers on Sunday in a match broadcast live on ESPN2. Glenn Davis will have all the play-by-play, with Monica Gonzalez providing analysis, as the defending champion Thorns seek their second consecutive appearance in the NWSL Playoffs.

Despite missing Morgan, Heath and defender Rachel Van Hollebeke for most of the first-half of the season – as well as fellow U.S. international Amber Brooks at the start of the campaign – Portland finds themselves part of a four-team pack separated by just three points entering Week 15 in the battle for the final two postseason spots

In May, the National Women’s Soccer League and ESPN announced a one-year agreement to broadcast nine NWSL games in 2014. The following games are available on ESPN networks.
