MSHSAA has released the new High School soccer classification and District soccer assignments for the Boys soccer season. A new 4 Class classification model, approved earlier this year, begins with the Fall Boys season.
The Classification model used:
64 largest schools in Class 4 with 16 districts of 4 teams
Next 64 largest schools in Class 3
Next 64 largest schools in Class 2
The remaining 30 some schools in Class 1 on with 8 districts.
At the time of the proposal approval, there were 224 boys teams and 224 girls teams currently playing soccer according to MSHSAA documents associated with the original proposal.
My spreadsheet below shows every school in the state with their current and former Classification. You can also visit the MSHSAA website to see their map and the breakdown by class and district.
We lost four small schools from the ranks of Boys soccer:
African Centered College Prep Academy, Holden and the Montgomery County Wildcats were Class 1 programs and Miller Career Academy, a Class 2 program, are no longer listed.
We added Liberty Wentzville in Class 3 although they still only have freshman and sophomores, St James in Class 2 offers Boys Soccer for the first time as do Construction Careers Charter, McKinley Classical Leadership and Father Tolton Catholic.
