Sr. Albert Reinwart, SLUH GK vs CCP Aug 23rd

I hope everyone’s enjoying a restful Labor Day weekend! All five MCC programs were out on the pitch with nonconference and MCC matches, so let’s get started:

Chaminade – the Red Devils only played 20 minutes before weather struck at Hazelwood West, so they’ll look to reschedule the match. Traveled down Hwy. 40 on Saturday to take on CBC and came away with another 3-0 victory in MCC play, with goals from Jack Rogers and Kenny Massa (2), with the shutout from Zack Pogue.

This week Chaminade will travel to Milwaukee to take on regional power Marquette Jesuit High School on Friday and then St. Viator (IL) on Saturday.

Desmet – the Spartans opened their season on the road, falling to Francis Howell Central 3-2 on Tuesday, with goals by Garvin Brand and Conner Ferguson, and then rained out versus Eureka on Thursday. They opened their home schedule with 5-0 victory over Wentzville Timberland (goals by Andrew Huber (2), Garvin Brand, Michael Scherping and Nick Hanson and the shutout by Ben Yeager and Andrew Kafoury).

This week Desmet will travel to Rockwood Summit on Thursday and then host Francis Howell North on Saturday.

SLUH – the Jr. Bills had their match vs. CBC cancelled on Wednesday, and then traveled to Louisville to take on Trinity High School on Friday in a 3-1 victory (goals by Clark Conway, Elliott Bearding and Ingram Tolish) before finishing with a 2-0 victory over St. Xavier, on goals by Peter Simon and Clark Conway, with the shutout by Albert Reinwart.

This week SLUH will host Waterloo Gibault on Tuesday, travel to MICDS on Thursday and then to Indianapolis on Saturday to take on Brebeuf Jesuit.

Vianney – the Golden Griffins christened their new turf field by hosting small school power St. Dominic and came away with 2-1 OT defeat (goal by Joey Delbert).

This week Vianney takes on Clayton on Tuesday, Kirkwood on Wednesday and St. Mary’s on Thursday, all in the Clayton Shootout, before hosting Webster Groves on Saturday.

CBC – the Cadets were washed out in their matchup with SLUH on Wednesday, and then hosted Lindbergh on Thursday in a 2-0 victory (goals by Jake Bell and Jake Meyerkord, with the shutout by Conor Robinson) before finishing the week with a 3-0 defeat to Chaminade.

This week CBC will host Francis Howell North on Tuesday before traveling to Collinsville on Thursday and playing Fort Zumwalt South at Priory on Saturday.

We’ll begin providing the rankings from STL Today, Missouri State Soccer Coaches Association and NSCAA beginning next week.
