US Club Soccer held their second id2 Training Camp of 2015 this past weekend in Raleigh, NC. Included in the 48 girls in the 2001 age group invited to participate was Naomi Ferguson of SLSG Missouri ECNL. Naomi is a seventh grader who is the youngest player on her 2000-2001 squad who are primarily eighth graders.
The event opened with training on Thursday followed by a series of games on Friday-Sunday. Naomi scored a pair of goals for her team during Saturday’s match. Sunday’s recaps haven’t been posted yet.
I shot a recent game between the SLSG MO U14 ECNL team against Chicago Eclipse, a club run by ECNL founder Rory Dames (also Chicago Red Stars Head Coach). A dramatic late winner by Bria Hamilton gave the team a key win as they have already qualified for the ECNL Champions League which features the Top 16 teams in the country.
