Scoring three goals in the first 15 minutes helped propel the FCKC Pink Panthers to their fourth straight Missouri State Cup title this afternoon, this one as U16’s. The win was not certain until the final whistle however as the AFA Fillies Wyland scored two in the second half to keep it close.
Hallie Klanke got the first two in identical fashion, receiving a through ball on the left side of the field and out-racing the AFA defense before slotting past the goalkeeper to the right upright. Kassidy Newsom split the defense with her run after receiving a ball from Grace Heenan, finishing to the right corner as well.
Those three goals were enough to allow the Pink Panthers to hold off the AFA Fillies who mounted a strong comeback effort with goals from Aliyah Tucker and Heather Layton.
