The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced the 2015 NSCAA All-America Teams for Junior College women’s programs late last year.
Forward Nicole Howard, a Sophomore forward at Lewis & Clark Community College at the time, was named to the first team for the second straight year. She is also the NJCAA National Player of the Year for the 2015 season. An alum of the Rolla Bulldogs, where she was a varsity starter for four years while playing for her father Mike Howard – recently named to the Missouri Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame – she was also a member of AC Porta Via.
Nicole is now in training at Louisiana State University (yep, LSU!) where the team has been impacted by the rain and flooding. Nicole is in the fourth pic below, smiling with the four young girls, one of whom is holding a board game in her hands.

The Tiger’s are picked to finish 5th in the SEC this season, one spot ahead of the Mizzou Tigers. The two teams will NOT meet this season unfortunately.

Nicole and her teammates will open their season Friday as they play in the Charleston Classic.
The closest she’ll play to home will be Labor Day weekend when the Tigers compete in the Hoosier Classic in Bloomington with games Friday against Indiana and Sunday against Butler.
It’s been an eventful year for the Howard family. Her father Mike Howard, long time Head Coach at Rolla, was inducted into the Missouri Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame in January. Nicole’s older brother, who also played at Lewis and Clark as well as Fontbonne, was named Head Coach of the St. Louis CC Archers (Meramec) and is preparing for his first game next Thursday against State Fair CC (Sedalia).
Congratulations to Nicole, and her family, I’m looking forward to following another SEC program this Fall!
