Tomas Gomez (Webster Groves) named 2016 USL Golden Glove Winner

Congratulations to Webster Grove’s Tomas Gomez, who was named the Golden Glove Award winner in the USL Soccer League this season. Gomez is a graduate of Georgetown University where he played in the NCAA College Cup in 2012. From the USL Press Release:

Rochester’s Gomez claimed a second consecutive Golden Glove award for the Rhinos as his shutout against Toronto FC II on Saturday evening earned him a league-leading 0.69 goals-against average for the season. Rochester’s Brandon Miller claimed the award in 2015 with a USL record mark of 0.56.

Gomez is set to be in action this weekend as the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs kick off. They play the Charlotte Independence on Saturday at 5:00 pm CT. The game can be viewed via a live stream at the USL Playoff Center.

The 2016 USL Cup will air live on ESPNU on Sunday, October 23 at 7 p.m. CT. Every other game of the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs will be available through the USL Cup Playoffs Center, with updates from across the league.
