El Clásico Saturday, College Cup and Nike Friendlies

el-clasico-2016
The weather turns wintery and the TV schedule favors an indoor effort this weekend. The big game is El Clásico Saturday morning but there are plenty of other choices to keep us entertained. I’ve highlighted some of the more interesting International games in the table below.

For those interested in the domestic game, the highlight is Sunday at 4:00 pm when the Nike Friendlies wrap with USA vs. Brazil. Local lad Josh Sargent (St. Dominic/SLSG Missouri Academy) has captained the USA side in their first two games, scoring three in the 7-1 opener against Portugal and setting up one Friday against Turkey before resting in the second half. The game will determine the winner. Should be quite entertaining.

The NCAA will determine Champions in Men’s and Women’s programs at the D2 and D3 level as well as the D1 Women. St. Louis is represented by Washington University as the women return to the D3 Final for the second straight year, facing Messiah for the title. The D1 Championship is West Virginia vs USC. Alli Magaletta (St. Joe/SLSG) scored the game-winner in the quarterfinal last week and has played every minute at defensive midfield, in front of Kadeisha Buchanan who you may remember from the Women’s World Cup. Kadiesha was also named ESPNw’s Player of the Year.

As always, here’s the full TV Calendar
