The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced on Thursday the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Soccer All-American Teams.
Two St. Louis area players are included on the list, both from Rockhurst University. Senior Courtney Silberberg (Eureka) was named to the third team as was Junior Kaleb Jackson (DeSmet).
Silberberg helped lead the Hawks to the NCAA national tournament and a No. 13 national ranking, in addition to sharing Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season championship. Silberberg finished the season with five goals, six assists and 16 points.
Jackson helped lead the Hawks to the NCAA national semifinals in Kansas City, Missouri and a No. 6 national ranking, in addition to winning the Great Lakes Valley Conference and NCAA Midwest Region championships. Jackson led the Hawks in goals (12), game-winning goals (7) and points (29).
Grand Valley State University senior midfielder Marti Corby (Ada, Mich.) receives All-American recognition for a fourth consecutive year and is joined by Lee University senior midfielder Kinsey Cichowitz (Buena Vista, Colo.) as the only NCAA Division II players to be named First Team All-Americans for a third straight season.
This year’s 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division II All-America Teams feature a total of 70 players, who will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon on January 14, 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in conjunction with the 2017 NSCAA Convention.
