In a game that will likely see a rematch in the Class 2 Quarterfinals in late May, the St. Charles West Warriors took the early lead before blowing the game open with three late goals for the 4-0 win over the defending Class 2 Champions. It was the first win for the Warriors in their City Derby since 2014, by 2-1 in a game that current Senior captain Megan Keeven provided an assist. All three of the senior captains were members of that team as freshman and Keeven noted post-game how proud she was of the team in achieving this win.

Keeven got things started for the Warriors when she scored in the 30th minute, muscling the ball off of the last defender in the center circle before breaking in on goal to score. It came less than a minute after So. Savannah Gilblair stopped a break away attempt by Maria Wilder, sent in by a slotted ball from Amy Jung. Gilblair would stop another Duchesne break away, this one by Emma Varvera, in the 38th to keep the score at 1-0 in SCW’s favor entering halftime.
I’ll finish this in the am…
