The Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA) have released their Final regular season poll of the season. I’ll break down what the High School Soccer Coaches Poll means for you below.
First, a shout out to a pair of coaches in the state that set personal records for wins since the last poll. Congratulations Tom Davidson and Ethan Weller. See the details below.
A new team at the top of the polls in Class 4 while Summit and Burroughs continue at the top of Class 3 and Class 2 respectively.
SLUH lost their first matches of the season, to Kirkwood in the CYC tournament and to CBC the following week, but the coaches have moved them back into first place again after Rockhurst went 5-1 following the last poll and SLUH 2-0 🙂 Tough calls at this level but one call that held is CBC over DeSmet as they won tonights match, giving the Cadets the MCC Title this season thanks to their earlier win over SLUH.
Marquette lost to Lindbergh last week (My Report) but moved up in the poll after they beat Rockhurst last weekend at the Jeff City Tourney. Smith Cotton moves into the poll for the first time and Kirkwood falls slightly. The Pioneers beat Summit tonight, considered the #1 team in St. Louis by the Post-Dispatch (who haven’t covered a game since October 4th).

The Falcons ended September with a loss to #2 Glendale but #9 Zumwalt South at the Rock Bridge Tournament. The match against #5 Ladue was a forfeit win after the Ram’s misbehaved during the Belton Tournament, leading the school and team to forfeit a number of games. They lost in their first game back to Parkway West in penalty kicks this week but I’m guessing their drop from the table is due to the lack of that detail getting out to the coaches. Rolla has moved up one and beat Class 4 Kickapoo tonight, showing some chops there.
|9||Ft. Zumwalt South||10-8-1||43||9|
Others: East KC 1, Parkway West 1, Platte County 1, Republic 1
Burroughs second loss of the season came to Class 4 Chaminade, a team that has gone 10-1 to finish the season. Bayless is feeling confident and will need that as both Cape Notre Dame and St. Pius are part of their Quarterfinal challenge. Burroughs have Priory in their Sectional group and St. Charles West or O’Fallon Christian likely waiting in the Quarterfinal.
|1||John Burroughs (9)||15-2||90||1|
|3||St. Charles West||16-4||63||4|
|7||Cape Notre Dame||11-6-2||27||5|
|8||St. Pius (Festus)||12-6||23||8|
Others: Tolton Catholic 18, Pembroke Hill 7, Bishop DuBourg 5, Perryville 4, Whitfield 2, Lincoln College Prep 1.
No change from the last poll other than the fact that Maplewood Richmond Heights is now part of the poll, tied with Bishop LeBlond in 5th with a pair of votes apiece.
|1||KC Lutheran (4)||14-4||20||1|
|2||St. Paul Lutheran||16-3||16||2|
