A Facebook post on Sunday morning by the Midwest Soccer Academy noted that the Academy’s facility had been purchased and the organization would be vacating in February. It has the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame searching for a new home too.
Midwest Summer Camp will be closing the end of February. Midwest Soccer Academy will remain open but will not hold soccer camps on the property. The school has purchased all of our buildings and property, due to the need of more room.
The facility is also the home of the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame and President Jim Leeker just posted to Facebook the news that the organization has begun
The St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame will continue to move forward. The selection of the Class of 2018 is just around the corner and the date of October 18, 2018 has been set for their Induction night. However, yes, it is a fact. As reported on the Midwest Soccer Academy Facebood page, their facility has been sold. As President of the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame, Jim Leeker would like to thank Jerry Beckerle (HOF 2010) and his entire staff for allowing us to showcase the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame at Midwest.
Needless to say, the Hall of Fame will be in storage until new ideas for displaying the illustrious history are found. These ideas are already taking place, so be watching.
Might be time for a fundraising effort or a benefactor offering space. It had been hoped that one of the soccer facilities being proposed (Chesterfield and MLS for example) would have found space. I think a location on The Hill would be a great opportunity, along with a couple of Futsal courts for the kids.
