Enjoyable visit Monday with Mike Hayes, Operations Manager at the Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex. His enthusiasm for the facility and his job is palpable and I have to say, I think the soccer community will soon join him in their appraisal of the facility and the benefits for the community. There will be a soft opening Monday, February 12th if the Occupancy Permit comes through as anticipated this week. Missouri Rush and St. Louis Scott Gallagher will have teams practicing on five pitches which are ‘theirs’ based upon a commitment they’ve made for field rental time. The Creve Coeur Soccer Complex Opening is scheduled for the following Monday, February 19th.
Where to begin? How about a discussion of the commitment clubs make to facility for ‘their fields’. That commitment is based upon a published pricing schedule that offers a discounted “tier 2” rate for any team or club that commits to 500 hours or more, under a 4 day per week model of 32 weeks or more. The pricing is $85/hour. SLSG Missouri are joined by Sporting JBM in having committed to four fields this year while Missouri Rush, Norco SC and the AFA Fillies have all contracted for one field. They will each have designated field(s) so that players will always know where to go for training or game play that occurs within the Club. For the historic Norco SC program, that field will be the Championship Field pictured above!
From the CCParkSoccer news document included at the bottom of this post:
Paric Corporation is putting the finishing touches on the $13.8 million Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex. The facility, set on the western edge of Creve Coeur Lake, is on pace to open this month with a host of St. Louis-area soccer clubs poised to call the complex home.
When the first ball is kicked it will be on one of 13 synthetic turf fields, including a standalone championship field with permanent seating for up to 500 spectators, and two smaller, youth-sized natural grass fields that make up the complex. Eleven of the 13 synthetic turf fields will be lighted.
In addition to the fields, the CCP Soccer Complex will afford visitors ample concessions, restrooms and lighted parking areas throughout along with new parks trail. There will be more than 1,200-plus paved parking spots with more than 300 overflow grass spots available.
The Central Village area of the complex will house a main concessions/restroom building, a second men’s/women’s restroom building, a vendor greenspace and a concrete patio and plaza area that will display soccer-themed sculptures and a central monument sign. North and South satellite concessions/restroom buildings will also complement the Central Village at each end of the complex.
The project will bring more than a dozen soccer tournaments to Creve Coeur Park in 2018, drawing teams from all over the Midwest region. The highlight of first year is Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex being named the host site for the 2018 Missouri Youth Soccer Association’s State Cup.
This event is the culmination of the club soccer season in Missouri with more than 264 games scheduled over two weekends in June (June 2-4, 8-9). Youth players on teams ranging from U-13 to U-19 boys along with U-13, 14 and U19 girls will compete.
In addition to soccer the complex is able to host sports such as lacrosse, flag football and ultimate frisbee. For more information and rental inquiries please go to www.ccparksoccer.com.
I’ve got more specifics to add over the next 24 hours. In the meantime, check out the basics included here and come back for an update Thursday. Time to get to work on the Senior Signing list for tomorrow!
