The St Louis Soccer Classic returns, to both St. Louis and St. Joseph Academy. It looks like the weather is cooperating, so long as the fields at St. Joe recovered from the volume of rain this week. The games are being played Friday and Saturday, 80 minutes as tournament games, no OT or PK’s (yeah!). The teams are split between a Green Division and a White Division that I’ve highlighted at the bottom of this post, where I’ll track each team’s tournament results.
I’ll need your help this weekend. If you are on site, a tweet that includes final score and any goal scorers would be appreciated. Add @SoccerSTL to your tweet and I’ll share with my followers.
There are several teams coming to town for the tournament. I’m collecting info that I’ll add to this report.
Bartlett Hawks (Chicago) – haven’t cracked the Chicagoland Top 25 but on the list to watch as they open. They’ve opened 4-1-1 with the loss to #5 St. Charles North and are coming off a 2-2 tie to #4 Glenbard East Tuesday.
Blue Valley Northwest (or BVNW)
Helias Catholic (Jeff City) is a Class 3 program with a history of results but are not currently ranked in the State. They’ll face a pair of Catholic programs in Nerinx and Cor Jesu as well as Parkway South.
I offer the latest State Rankings in the tables below.

Summit scored early and often with Mackenzie Liztsinger scoring in the 5th and 15th min, Lily Schneiders (who verbally committed to SLU Billiken’s this week) in the 39th, Anna Lawler and Messerly in the second half for the 5-1 win.
Nerinx got a pair in the first half and finished at 3-0 over Class 3 Helias.
IWA gave up a goal midway through the first half to Jayln McLean before getting two late in the first half. The first by Carolyn Kutchback on an indirect kick from 18 yds and Olivia Layton hammered a ball from 12 yards on the left side into the roof of the net in the 39th. The ball came from Emily Groark from the top of the box. The Red Knights then locked down in the second half and got the final goal from Abby Tremain. PHOTO GALLERY Kickapoo v IWA
St Joe and Collinsville were scoreless in the first half as the Angel’s smothering man-marking kept the Kahok’s off the scoreboard. Courtney Marten got the first one, assisted by Tayler Devine. Goal 2 by Dayle McEwen off a corner from Andrea Frerker. PHOTO GALLERY Collinsville v St Joe
