Ian Drake, a 2003 player for St. Louis Scott Gallagher SC (SLSG), has been chosen yet again to participate in the US Youth Futsal (USYF) National Team for U13 boys. He was chosen following the National ID Camp that was held outside Kansas City the weekend of July 7-9. The teams were announced last week.
Drake was chosen as an alternate for the U12 team in 2014 and then added to the first team last July following the National ID Camp in 2015. That team traveled to Toronto, Canada for a competition series in late December.
I maintain a bio page on Ian where you can find more on his development.
The National ID Camp was the culmination of a year-long identification process that included Regional events. The older teams are currently in Colombia, host of the upcoming FIFA Futsal World Cup in September, while the younger teams will travel to another event later in the year.
