Erin Hesselbach, an alum of IWA, Class of 2000, has been named the new head coach of IWA’s soccer program. She was named Conference Coach of the Year-Conference Indiana, 2008 and Named All-Area Coach of the Year-Herald Times Newspaper, 2008. Erin was a member of the Academic All Big Ten, awarded for student-athlete excellence to Indiana University Varisty Student-Athletes, 2000-2004. Erin was also a Member of Indiana University Women’s soccer program, competed nationally as part of Division I-A Big Ten Conference, 2000-2004. Erin was named 2nd Team All Big Ten, awarded to student athletes by Big Ten Coaches, 2002

Hesselbach, who also won a state title in volleyball with the Red Knights, was honorable mention Post-Dispatch All-Metro in volleyball as a senior. In soccer, she earned second-team All-Metro honors as a junior and moved up to the first team as the lone senior on the 2000 Class 1A-3A state champs. That season, she was a force all over the field, finishing with nine goals and four assists.
A Florissant native, Hesselbach earned a soccer scholarship to Indiana, where she was a four-year starter. She was second-team All-Big Ten as a junior and earned all-league academic honors following her sophomore, junior and senior campaigns.
When injuries slowed her on-field career, Hesselbach turned to coaching. She spent one season as a graduate assistant with the Hoosiers and another as an assistant at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis before going to the high school ranks.
She spent two seasons at Bloomington (Ind.) North High, helping the Cougars break school records for wins and shutouts. She was the conference and the all-area coach of the year in 2008.
