The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has released their High School All-America list for Spring 2013.
Cristina Rodriguez, a recent St Dominic High School graduate who represented the North squad in the MAC High School All-Star game, was one of twenty-eight players from around the country who were recognized at this level. She is pictured above with her High School Coach Greg Koeller at the All-Star game. Cristina will play for the St Louis University Billikens this Fall.
In addition, Savannah Trujillo of St. Teresa’s Academy was the other Missouri player recognized. Savannah was recognized at the All-Midwest level in 2012. She will be a senior this Fall. She has committed to Mizzou.
Eight of the 29 players selected earn their second NSCAA All-America award: Ashley Colcagno from Vero Beach High (Fla.), Tayler Estrada from Bentonville High (Ark.), Heather Lacy from Lambert High (Ga.), Kaela Little from Bishop Kelley High (Okla.), Alexis Shaffer from Green Hope High (N.C.), Delaney Sheehan from Mandeville High (La.), Josee Stiever from Cedarburg High (Wis.) and Zoe Swift from Naperville North High (Ill.).
The All-America Teams are comprised of the top ranked players from each state. Each state is allocated a specific number of players based on the high school NSCAA membership in each state.
These 49 players will be celebrated and recognized for their accomplishments at the High School Awards Brunch on Saturday, Aug. 3, in Orlando at the 2013 Summer Symposium. Gold medalist and 1995 NSCAA High School All-American Angela Hucles is scheduled to give the brunch keynote address.
