The Central Missouri Jennies will take on No. 17 Mercy College in the Final Four today, Thursday November 30th. Kickoff for the match is set for 2 p.m. and can be seen live via the NCAA (link below). The Jennies reach the Final Four for the first time ever, advancing after four straight meetings with Grand Valley State that finally saw them come out on top. They’ve won the MIAA Conference title every year but one since 2007, coinciding with the arrival of Head Coach Lewis Theobald. That record of consistent performance means I prioritize their annual visit to Lindenwood but I missed it this year as State Cup pool play opened the same day.
The first match of the day includes Eureka grad KELSEY LANHAM on the Colorado Springs Mountain Lions. Lanham has averaged 35 minutes per game in the 17 games she’s played in (2 starts) while scoring 5 goals and adding an assist. Her 11 points rank fourth on the team. We’ll see her play Thursday.

There are two area players on the Jennie’s squad. Senior TAYLOR THOMPSON (#5, Edwardsville) and sophomore ALEX HARMS (#7, Fox).
Thompson has played in all 24 matches, starting 12. She’s been a consistent presence on the pitch, starting all 23 games last year, 15 of the 24 games she played in as a sophomore and 18 of 22 her freshman year. She has scored four goals this season, with game-winners against MIAA opponents Ft. Hays State and Missouri Western.
Harms has played in 20 of the 24 matches after appearing in all 23 games as a freshman, scoring one goal this season after finishing with four last year.
