A pair of brothers from Wildwood, both graduates of Lafayette High School, are set to play in the NCAA Division 1 College Cup on Friday. Jr. Austin Panchot (2015) for the Indiana Hoosier and Fr. Logan Panchot (2017) for the Stanford Cardinals are both starters and their respective teams will play in the semifinals Friday evening. There’s a good possibility the brothers will face off in the Final on Sunday! The folks at Llywelyn’s Wildwood (located 2 miles South of the their alma mater Lafayette) are hosting a Watch Party on Friday evening with some beer specials to help us celebrate this unique opportunity. Click on the image below for a link to the Pub’s website.
Happy Hour available until 6pm and they are offering some specials during the games that include the following:
$3 Domestics bottles*
$3 Bud Light Draft Pints
$6 pitchers of Blue Moon
*Does not include premium bottles (e.g. Bud Light lime, Michelob Ultra, etc)
Friday, 5:00 pm – Stanford vs Akron
Friday, 7:45 pm – Indiana v North Carolina
The photo is from an interview in 2013 with the brothers, shortly before Logan took off for two years with the USMNT, where he and Christian Pulisic were roommates at the US Soccer Residency program in Bradenton. Austin was fresh from competing in the U15/16 US Soccer Academy National Championship match in 2012 with teammates Mark Segbers and Tom Barlow (both Wisconsin seniors) among others, where they lost to the New York Red Bulls. Still the highest level achieved by the SLSG Academy program (highlight video below).
Plenty of other St. Louis connections that I’ll highlight in a Preview story to come. In the meantime, how about sharing this story with your friends and plan on coming out and joining us. You can fill me in on what you and your team are up to as I prepare my Spring coverage plans and have some fun. I hope to see you there!
