It became official today. With his 18th birthday Josh Sargent Signs with Werder Bremen! I had to pull out this photo from the archives to celebrate the local lad’s newest opportunity. Of note, from Werder Bremen’s official announcement (below) he will not be eligible to play for the 1st team until the Fall since the transfer window is now closed. The U23 side competes in Bundesliga 3 and there does not appear to be any consistent way to watch the lad play. I’ll be certain to update you on that if circumstances change.
Happy eighteenth birthday, @joshsargent! 💚
And you know what that means – he's also signed his professional contract with the Green-Whites! ✍️

Via Werder Bremen – Now it’s official. Joshua Sargent has signed a professional contract at SV Werder Bremen on his eighteenth birthday. Sporting director Frank Baumann confirmed as much on Tuesday afternoon.
“All the formalities have been completed and Josh has now signed his professional contract with us. We’re really happy that he has decided to take this next step in his career at SV Werder Bremen. He has really impressed us since the beginning of this year and has gathered experience in first team training as well as some games with the Under-23s,” said Baumann.
Joshua Sargent has been in Bremen since the beginning of the year. He was at the witner training camp together with Werder’s Under-23 setup and has been in training with the Bundesliga side on multiple occasions. Sargent is able to play for Florian Kohfeldt’s side from the beginning of the 2018/2019 season.
