Guisuppe Di Cera breaks into the box against Galaxy SC on February 22, 2020

My third match of the day Saturday featured the 2001 boys as SLSG Elite Marschuetz faced off against Galaxy SC. A scoreless game until the 42nd minute when Guiseppe Di Cera slipped a ball into the path of Christian Kraus. Kraus ran onto it and with his second touch slipped it past the on-rushing keeper from about 8 yards out. Early into the second half Krause doubled his output when in the 47th minute he finished a rebound. It came following a corner kick that Zachary Renz headed back across the goal and the keeper was unable to handle it effectively. MWC 2001: SLSG Elite Shut Out Galaxy

PHOTO GALLERY SLSG MO 2001 Elite host Galaxy SC in Midwest Conference action on February 22. Photo sales help me cover my costs (travel, website and online services, camera gear) and you can get a great action shot that your future college program will be able to use to promote signing with the team (yep, I waive copyright for that use).

The game finished 4-0 as Renz got a goal of his own, finishing from just outside the box, hitting it just inside the upright. The final goal was scored by Burke Hoedebecke. I’d left by then, much colder then I expected given the forecast. Still Winter ball in many ways.

Read more about the Club-v-Club Division that is new beginning this season.

The team lined up in a 4-4-2 for the majority of the game although they opened in a 4-3-3. The lineup and roster are incomplete because as can be seen from this National League listing they are carrying 26 players and apparently have a NL roster and a Midwest Conference roster which is not available.

F: Sawyer Hardy – Christian Kraus- Brandon O’Dell
M: Guiseppe DiCera – Gus Mantia – Fetiol Hyke – Zach Renz
DM:
D: Travis Kircher – Kyle Burke – Jacob Goldstein – Thomas Deavilla
GK: Andrew Matheny

Players I couldn’t identify were #24, #26 and #29
