Via the Sporting STL website: Sporting St. Louis, the non-profit soccer club based at SportPort International in Maryland Heights, has hired Dan Donigan, former head coach for the Saint Louis University Men’s Soccer Billikens, to the newly created position of Technical Director, overseeing player and coaching development programs.
Donigan served as the Billikens Head Coach from 2001 to 2010, winning numerous awards and guiding his team to several conference championships and lofty national rankings. In more recent years he served as head coach for men’s soccer at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. and Technical Director at Players Development Academy (PDA) Hibernians, in New Jersey.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring a man of Dan’s caliber back to St. Louis to oversee our development programs,” said Jeff Stevens, president and executive director of Sporting St. Louis. “As both a player and a coach, Dan has consistently excelled at the highest level.
I suspect there may be at least one additional move with a good possibility that Brian Grazier could return as well. The Edwardsville native, also seen in the photo above, followed Donigan to Rutgers in 2018 while also working with him at PDA.
