Recap

Via St. Louis City SC – St. Louis CITY started the game on the back foot, going two goals down in the first 20 minutes before midfielder Miguel Perez calmly dispatched St. Louis CITY’s first-ever goal after retrieving the ball from a counter press in midfield. After the goal, the momentum shifted in favor of STL CITY and the team showed their grit and determination as they became more aggressive – with players pressuring Chicago’s defense and forcing turnovers high up the pitch. STL CITY got the game-winner with a lovely string of passes eventually finding the feet of Connor Lovell, who whipped a cross that was deflected to birthday boy Kai Pope, who slotted a composed shot in the bottom corner of the net – giving St. Louis CITY its first-ever win. Happy Birthday to @ajpalazzolo98 (his 24th) as he prepares for his @mlsnextpro season with @stlcitysc
A bit of @stlcityacademy news - @mykhi_joyner is joining the U17 squad from SLSG. He's the lad that struck the late winner for the U16 SLSG team when they won the derby game in November. A very bright talent.
New Twitter account for this lad where he's posted a highlight video and it now also includes the goal he scored against Chicago to open the season and was the first goal for the Academy.
A reminder to make sure everything is charged up in case the weather causes outages
